Release Shame and Embarrassment

Have you ever been more than embarrassed or felt a persistent pain of not feeling worthy or enough?  That persistent pain is shame and you need to release shame so you can have better life experiences.

What is shame? Shame is a painful feeling that carries beliefs of being flawed, not enough, don’t belong or unworthy. The pain persists if you don’t release shame.

So how does that happen to us?

It usually starts in childhood when we experience not belonging or being important enough with someone we trust to love us and validate us. We take the lack of validation of our true nature to mean that we are not enough, flawed or do not belong.

Then as we grow and have similar experiences, we reinforce those beliefs with each experience.  Eventually it becomes painful as layer upon layer of experiences provide a lie that our ego comparative mind uses to keep in control of defining our life experiences.

Why ought I heal and release shame?

First of all, shame keeps you at a very slow vibration level, making you experience way too much suffering that you were never meant to have.

Secondly, shame keeps your ego comparative mind running your life rather than your conscious mind. This makes you vulnerable to too receiving additional shame from others well into and through your adult life.  These can be authority figures or those that you feel having more value than you.

If you are experiencing shame from other adults, you are better served by healing and releasing all shame.

So how do we heal it when the pain just won’t go away?

Here are 3 different ways that can help relieve the pain and release the shame.

1. Remove the labels

As the pain of shame arises or a bad experience arises, it is important to remove the label of pain or shame first.  Now notice where in your body that feeling is without any labels.  Observe it without judgments and keep observing until it passes through you.

If old memories arise make a note of them and go back to observing the feeling until it passes.  For example maybe you recall a memory of your parent scolding you harshly for something you did. Just write it down knowing you can get to it later.

If a memory comes forward that you captured, you want to look at it from an adult perspective.  Know that the harshness or strong reaction by an adult was their responsibility not yours.  How someone reacts or responds to an experience is their responsibility, not yours.  They only respond harshly out of fear that they had, not what you did.

Forgive why they responded.  This frees you from the past event.  What they did may not be forgivable, but why they did is.  All your actions did was trigger a fear in them, that is all.  As a child to feel safe, you took on a non true belief.  That was a survival response that no longer serves you.  Understand and know that.

2. Consider your beliefs associated with shame or embarrassment

Another way to respond to shame is to look at the beliefs you may be carrying: not worthy, not good enough, don’t belong, or flawed.  The problem with shame is that many religions reinforce these beliefs with good intentions. They use these beliefs so that you will be able to feel remorse when making a mistake.  As children you take on shame beliefs rather than remorse lessons.

Now it is a higher truth that you are made in the image of the Divine.  So how can you be unworthy, not good enough, do not belong to the Divine essence or are completely imperfect?

As you look at the higher truths, notice that the beliefs you carry are lies given to you by your ego comparative mind.  Look in a mirror and tell yourself the truth.  Tell your ego comparative mind that you know that the old beliefs are lies and you consciously choose to stop believing them and release them to the Divine.  Do this mirror technique until you really believe the higher truth more than the old lies.

For example, maybe you were taught that you were born a sinner.  Well no one is born a sinner.  Newborns do not sin.  We are born with the capacity to hurt or harm others as we reach the age of reason.  Our life experiences are meant for us to evaluate, make change to be better and follow through with better actions in the future.  That is true atonement.

3. Surrender to Divine Healing

A third way is to give this up to the Divine for healing.  The Divine is always available for healing anything.  Know that relief of suffering from pain is always offered to those who ask.  Let them come to you in your dreams and change those beliefs with higher truths.

We were born to observe life experience and give that to Divine creation.  Your experiences are of great value to the Divine and speak to the importance and significance your life is to them. Know this to be a higher truth and ask for help knowing this.  Here is a meditation to help you on your path to release shame or embarrassment.

Watch this place in nature while listening to this relaxing music.

Take in a nice deep breath.

Blow it out.

Take in another deep breath. Hold it.

Blow that breath out.

Allow your breathing to come to a natural rhythm.

Start relaxing yourself. Notice your feet, now relax them.

Slowly move that relaxation up into your calves.

Let your knees relax.

Feel your thighs; relax them.

Move that relaxing feeling upward now and into your lower back and tummy.

Next  move that soothing relaxation into your upper back and chest.

Relax your hands and arms.

Become aware of your shoulders and neck; relax them.

Roll your head from side to side and allow your head to be filled with gentleness.

Notice your face relaxing now.

You are now in a deep state of complete relaxation.

Quiet yourself and allow a gentle stillness to come to you.

Now quiet your mind further as you allow only thoughts of your breath moving in and out.

Feel your heart and open it up to feeling love.

Feel yourself opening upward and outward with your love.

Now further out, up and out into the world and further out now out into space.

Your love moves further out now into the Universe.

Sense a deep connection now with all that is, Divine creation.

Ask the Divine to come and be with you now.

Just be and experience them sitting with you.

Now say these words of along with me.

All days in all ways,

more and more,

the Divine whispers

how much they love me.

All days in all ways,

more and more,

the Divine tells me

I am worthy of their love.

All days in all ways,

more and more,

the Divine helps me know

I am enough.

All days in all ways,

more and more,

The Divine says I am Divine

perfection to them always.

All days in all ways,

more and more,

I belong to Divine essence.

All days in all ways,

more and more,

I know that I am made

In the image of the Divine.

Take some time and feel grateful for the love from Divine Creation.

Feel that gratitude in your body and observe it now.

Now feel the wholeness of you.

Receive more love from the Divine now as they fill you completely with knowing how significant your life is to them.

Any time you need healing, just ask, Divine creation will heal you.

The Divine provides all.

Take some time and let that in.

Now fill yourself with the love they have for you.

Slowly now, become aware of the room you are in.

Now bring yourself to the place you are sitting.

You are back now.

You are safely in your comfortable place.

You can receive healing anytime by noticing the Divine presence that is with you always.

You were made in the image of Divine Creation.

You are a lovely being made of their spiritual light.
